UEFA has taken the decision to exclude Russia and Russian clubs from European football competitions. Thus, while no Russian club will take part in European cups in the 2022-2023 season, the women's team, which was due to take part in Euro 2022, has been replaced by Portugal. Francisco Neto's team lost to the Russians in the play-offs (0-1 in the first leg, 0-0 in the second) and were therefore drafted in. They will play in group C, alongside the Netherlands, Switzerland and Sweden.
