The countdown is on for this year's eagerly-awaited sporting event: the Rugby World Cup in France! From September 8 to October 28, the world's best teams will battle it out for the most prestigious of trophies.
Prior to the kick-off in September, the French national team, led by Fabien Galthié, will take part in a training camp starting on July 2 in Monaco. The coach has called up 42 players for this training camp. The list is subject to change depending on each player's form, but it does provide an initial hierarchy for one of the competition's favourites.
Among the players selected by Fabien Galthié are, of course, Dupont, Ntamack, Ollivon and Flament, introduced in this article. These stars of the XV de France's golden generation are eagerly awaited.
Sipili Falatea, Anthony Jelonch and Gaëtan Barlot are all out injured. Emmanuel Meafou, injured during the Top 14 final, will be out of action for around 2 months. Although he won't be granted French nationality until November, the World Cup seems a long way off for the Australian giant.
The final list of 33 players who will take part in the World Cup will be announced on August 21.
