Newsletter "Le film Prono" Scorecast N°1

Tonight is the Champions League!

On the pitch, as on Scorecast, the Champions League continues this Tuesday evening. On our app, the competition is in full swing and Kikinaty98 is leading the way in the public competition ranking. The player who proudly wears a Belgian national team jersey has 93 points after 5 games of the group stage, just ahead of Mouradsi with 89 points. Everything is still possible for the chasers since a correct score earns 3 points, a good goal difference with the good winner earns 2 points and a good winner earns 1 point.

Kikinaty98: "I predict for fun

As the leader of the public Champions League competition, Kikinaty98 earns most of its points by betting on the favourites to win. On 18 occasions, it has found the right winner and the right goal difference in a match, a record in the public competition.

"I discovered Scorecast through Anderlecht fans. I went to see it out of curiosity and since then I've been predicting for fun. I make predictions on the day of the games by looking at the latest results of the clubs, the suspended and injured players. But there is a big part of luck especially to find the right score. It's very difficult for the last day of the group stage because some clubs have nothing left to play for and are going to give up. Lille, Salzburg, Porto, Benfica and Atalanta might go through. For a daring prediction, I'm going to try Leipzig's 2-1 win over Manchester City."

Porto vs Atlético Madrid: a match with a lot at stake for the 2nd place in group B. Who do you see passing?

For me, it's Atlético that goes through. I can't see Atletico failing to reach the last 16. In 8 appearances, Simeone has taken them to the last 16 of the Champions League 7 times. I don't see them going down even though Atletico haven't had their usual rhythm since the start of the season, especially with an incredible defensive fragility, uncharacteristic tactical changes and a switch to a 3-man defence that hasn't paid off. Atletico also couldn't score and then there was a reaction, in Cadiz. We saw the connection between Lemar and Griezmann again. I don't see Atlético missing out on this qualification. December is a decisive crossroads for Atletico, who are playing for their European future this week ahead of La Liga clashes with rivals Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Same scenario in Group F where Atalanta must beat Villarreal to go through. Your prediction?

For me, it's Atalanta who will come out on top. Atalanta is a team in form that can aim for the Scudetto in Italy as Napoli and both Milan are having a rough time. Atalanta are in great shape, 4th in Serie A, 9 games without defeat, 7 wins and 2 draws. In the last 5 games, they have taken 15 points out of 15. All this led by Gasperini who is having his best moment: 31 points is his best total since he took over the management of Atalanta. The only question is: do we focus solely on Serie A and leave the Champions League to one side, even if unconsciously? Or do we say to ourselves that we are never as competitive when we are good on all fronts? That's how I see Atalanta's success.

Real Madrid host Inter Milan for 1st place in Group D. What do you see in this match?

It's very hot right now. Real have the best attack in the league with Karim Benzema floating around, the pichichi of the league, behind him is Vinicius, 2nd best scorer. But I put a big BUT. We still have questions about Ancelotti's methodology. He's a man who doesn't rotate much. With Casemiro, Modric and Kroos in midfield, the engine room doesn't run while we have Valverde and Camavinga just waiting to get in. We've seen this before when Ancelotti was on the Real Madrid bench, with the team getting off to a flying start only to run out of steam during the month of March. Will it happen again this year? We'll have to wait and see. The three thirty-somethings in the midfield are showing signs of running out of steam in some games. On the Inter side, Simone Inzaghi has put his stamp on this team. When Lukaku left, we thought that the attack would be depopulated, but we found a gem with the experience of Dzeko, who was remarkably effective. I'll take out Çalhanoğlu and Bastoni who are excellent. Total indecision in this group for the first place. It comes down to Madrid: I think I'll go with a draw and Madrid retaining first place.

To keep their destiny in their own hands, Barça must win in Munich in Group E. Bayern are guaranteed first place. Who wins?

Bayern are already assured of top spot, so you'd think they'd take advantage of that to play the turnover in anticipation of staying on course in the Bundesliga. But Muller didn't like Lewandowski being left out of the Ballon d'Or, Messi still has the Barça colour and Bayern are keen to show they are way above it. We'll be watching closely to see which 11 Nagglesman chooses. The Xavi effect is being felt, but the team is still being rebuilt and is marked by a huge youthfulness, with nine players barely 20 years old. Barça lacks a striker and I think Bayern will be above them in this match.

Group G, Lille's group, is very indecisive. What do you see as the results on the last day?

This is the most undecided group. Lille have gone six games without defeat, which is good because they were struggling in Ligue 1. In this match against Wolfsburg, I see them as being pretty good, especially since the Germans have stopped with three defeats and a draw in their last games. I think Lille can go and play their card. In the other match, Sevilla are at Salzburg. Sevilla have been oscillating since the beginning of the season with phases of doubt, especially the defeat at home to Lille. I'm going to give Sevilla an advantage over the young Salzburg team. On the other hand, we have experience and talent. I'm thinking of Rafa Mir, who is one of the best players at the start of the season.

In Group H, Chelsea and Juve have 12 points. Who do you see finishing in first place?

That's hot. I think Juve will beat Malmö because Juve have been imperious in the early part of the season in the Champions League even if the last game against Chelsea was a slap in the face with 4 goals conceded. Allegri has been shaken up, his comeback is not that simple. Dybala better be in his best form as he is in contract renegotiation. He wants to establish himself as the leader of the institutional exit. At the same time, Chelsea are at home to Zenit. Chelsea are doing well and Tuchel knows how to manage his squad perfectly. The Blues are in the right tempo. I'll give Juve a win against Malmö and why not Chelsea a win at Zenit.

A risky prediction for this last day?

I'm going to go and put it in the most undecided group. I'll give you a pretty incredible scenario. Imagine Wolfsburg beating Lille and Sevilla beating Salzburg. Sevilla would go top with 9 points. Salzburg would fall from 2nd place to 4th with 7 points. And there would be a battle between Wolfsburg and Lille at 8 points each which would be to Lille's disadvantage as the criterion in case of a tie is the highest number of points obtained in the games played between the teams concerned. 0-0 in the first leg and if Wolfsburg wins against Lille, Wolfsburg would pass. Lille would be 3rd and would be in the Europa League.
