Paris held at Rennes, Lille close in on the title

A hiccup that hurts in the race for the title! Paris Saint-Germain's 1-1 draw at Rennes in the 36th round of Ligue 1 has put the title firmly in their grasp, even though it's still up for grabs with two rounds to go. The Parisians opened the scoring just before half-time from a contentious penalty awarded by the referee after Nayef Aguerd's challenge on Layvin Kurzawa. Neymar converted it. In a second half dominated by the Bretons, Serhou Guirassy headed home the equaliser in the 70th minute. PSG finished with 10 men after Presnel Kimpembe was sent off for an uncontrolled tackle on Jeremy Doku. In the standings, Paris is 2nd, 3 points behind Lille. Rennes, meanwhile, are in 7th place, one point behind 5th place, which qualifies them for the next edition of the Europa League.
